The things people ask us most, in one place: visiting, classes and booking, group events, memorial pieces, the shop and commissions. If your question isn’t here, give us a call or send a message and we’ll help.
Yes, the hotshop runs most days and you’re welcome to stand and watch, no booking needed. It doesn’t run to a fixed timetable, so if you’re coming specially, call ahead and we’ll tell you what’s on that day.
We’re at 6506 Wellington Road 7 in Elora, Ontario. The gallery is open year-round, and we’re about 25 minutes from Guelph, 30 from Kitchener–Waterloo and 90 from Toronto. See the Visit page for current hours and directions.
There’s parking on site. For accessibility in the gallery and near the hotshop, give us a call before you visit and we’ll tell you what to expect.
None at all. Every session is built for complete beginners, with Tim or Katherine beside you the whole way, and you’ll make a finished piece on your first visit.
Pick a session and a date on the booking page. Prices depend on what you’re making, and you’ll see them as you book.
Closed-toe shoes in the hotshop, and tie back long hair; natural fibres suit better than synthetics close to the heat. We teach ages 18+ for our classes. All ages are welcome to visit the studio.
Not quite. Hot glass has to cool slowly overnight so it doesn’t crack, so we will keep it safe until you can come back for it.
We do. We host teams, offsites, holiday parties and private celebrations, and tailor the session to your group. See the Team Building page and tell us your numbers.
It’s our date-night experience, and a whole series you can work through together. Each One Hot Date is two hours at the furnace for two, making a piece each to take home, with no experience needed. There are six dates in the series, designed to be done in order from your first date through to a grand slam, plus a Double Date for four and a Third Wheel for three. See the One Hot Date section on the Classes page.
Yes. A gift card lets someone choose their own session and date, and it’s ready to book whenever they are.
Yes. We work a small measure of ashes into molten glass by hand, swirling it through the colour until it’s sealed permanently inside the piece, so it becomes part of the glass itself.
About a teaspoon for a pendant or keepsake, a little more for a glass urn. Whatever we don’t use is always returned to you with the finished piece.
Never. We work one person’s, or one pet’s, ashes at a time, and clean everything down in between. What’s held in your glass is only ever theirs.
We do, with exactly the same care. Pendants, keepsakes and small urns can all be made with a pet’s ashes. See the Ash in the Glass page.
Everything is made by hand in our Elora studio, and yes, we pack every order carefully and ship Canada-wide. Local buyers are welcome to collect from the studio.
We do, in any amount, and you can gift a hands-on experience like One Hot Date too. See the shop.
Yes. From a one-off piece to custom lighting or a set of corporate awards, most of what we make begins with a conversation. Tell us what you have in mind through the contact page.
We do, designed, made and installed by us, from a single pendant to a large installation. See the Custom Lighting page.
Yes, hand-blown and etched in-house with your logo and colours. See the Corporate Awards page.
If we haven’t answered it here, we’re happy to help. Give us a call on 519.846.8268 or send a message and we’ll get back to you.
Tell us the class and dates you’d like and we’ll confirm availability by email.
