Celebrating 27 years of teaching! Glassblowing classes at Blown Away Glass Studio® are fun and known nation-wide as one of the most hands-on glass blowing experiences offered. We have taught thousands of people and love meeting new people, and there are so many options to find the right workshop for you.
In 2016 Canadian comedy icon Rick Mercer brought The Rick Mercer Report to Elora and learned to blow glass with Tim and Katherine. Ever since the episode aired, guests keep telling us the same thing: they booked their very first class because they saw it.
Classes run Thursdays from 7-10; Fridays from 4-6; Saturdays & Sundays 11-1 & 2-4. We teach ages 16+. Wear light cotton clothing and closed-toed shoes, and bring a water bottle. Pieces cool overnight, so you will come back to collect them. Tools are set up right-handed; left-handed guests blow comfortably too, since both hands are used throughout. Prices subject to change.
The first in the series, so do them in order. Over two hours you’ll each make a paperweight and a drinking glass in the colours of your choice. Runs Fridays 4-6; Saturdays & Sundays 11-1 & 2-4.

The second date. Each make a blown ornament and a bowl in the colours of your choice. Runs Fridays 4-6; Saturdays & Sundays 11-1 & 2-4.

The third date, so it’s time to get serious. Make a drinking glass to start, then a beautiful vase each in the colours of your choice.

The fourth date. Make another glass to match the set you’ve started, then make a plate.

The fifth date. Start with a drinking glass each as warm-up pieces, then make your own pendant lights!

The final date. Make anything of your own design. By now you have plenty of experience and can do more of the work yourselves. Push your limits and we’ll make sure it comes off!

Go on a One Hot Date with another couple! All four of you make a paperweight and drinking glass in the colours of your choice.

One Hot Date for three people! All three make a paperweight and drinking glass in the colours of your choice. Runs Fridays 3:30-6; Saturdays & Sundays 10:30-1 & 2-4:30.

Cancellation & refund policy: All classes / workshops / teambuildings / parties / events are non-refundable and non-transferrable. You will lose 50% of the full amount if you cancel your workshop within 2 weeks of date confirmed. The other 50% can be put towards another class or on pieces already for sale in the gallery. If you cancel within 2 days or miss your class no refund will be issued. Classes expire after 2 years of purchase date.
Blow your own pumpkin in the colours of your choice! Up to 12 students per class.
Blow either a whiskey, wine or pint glass in the colours of your choice! Up to 10 students.
Each person blows a freindship ball in the colours of their choice. Up to 12 students.
